Telos Standards
Veneer - Extensive variety of available species, Hand selected for graining, color, no knots and reduced crossfire. Standard equal width fitches booked matched on tops and fronts. All types of custom patterns are available as requested.
Solids - Number 1 grade solids, all solids selected for color, no defects or knots. No finger joint construction to allow use of off-cuts. All solids are dried to specific moisture levels according to destination. There are 4 stages of drying,
- Received rough wood is kiln dried before cutting
- After rough cutting all pieces are set into dryer room
- Before assembly components are placed into dryer room
- After final assembly and final sanding all units are placed into dry room before finishing
Moisture - No exposed edges, all edges are edge banded with veneer, backs and bottoms are sealed to resist moisture penetration.
Construction - Heavy duty contract construction. Product is produced to withstand normal hotel abuse. All joinery blocks are solid wood and or metal as required. All joints are well glued and double dowelled, Tenon and Mortise or metal lag bolts as required.
Interiors - all interiors are veneered mdf or particle board as required. Interiors stained and finished to match exterior of case unless specified.
Drawers - 5 sided drawer box construction using English dovetails front and back. Veneer drawer bottoms with reinforcing solid blocks. Completely finished inside and out, in a clear natural finish, unless specified. Full extension black, side-mount, roller bearing side mount slides or ¾ extension self closing under-mount slides as requested.
Backs - All backs are veneered both sides and installed using screws. They are finished all around and recessed for cord drops.
Floor Glides - All units are installed with non marring nylon glides. Units with doors have adjustable glides on the front corners for leveling.
Hanging Cleat – Headboards and Mirrors have either wood (French type) cleats or metal brackets to allow unit to be flush mounted to the wall.
Hardware - All decorative hardware, as specified ort approved will be quality checked before installation. All hardware is plated to resist rust. Moving components are high quality plated steel and hinges are 110 degree opening unless specified.
Finish - We pride ourselves on using the best finish materials available. Spectrum matching to control samples or laminates. Penetrating stain is used to absorb into the woods reducing possible nicks or scratches from normal abuse. Toners are used to match solid colors closely to the veneer colors and multiple stage sealer and lacquer coats to protect the product. We offer PU, modified PU and NC top coats to suite your product needs.
Cartons - Heavy duty, 250 lbs breaking strength with BC double wall cartons. Heavy units are skidded as required. All samples include outer mdf shell to further protect the product.
